Anyone would think that after the circus that came through town, namely the Queensland Mining and Oil Expo put on by the government, that there was such a great need for workers in the mines that people could basically just walk into a new job.
But that was definitely not the case, as criticism started to come in about how the expo really had no new information and it was so small that you never got a chance to really talk to anyone of importance.
